Locations & routing

Purpose. This is why orders fulfil themselves. Shopify sends each line of an order to whichever location holds that product's stock. Set the location right and routing is automatic.

The fulfilment locations

Steps

1. Go to Shopify admin, then Settings, then Locations. Confirm that Ogo Print on Demand, Hillbrick, and Office all exist. They persist year to year, so you are just confirming, not recreating.
2. For each product, make sure its inventory is stocked at the right location only.
   • Tee and Hoodie go to Ogo Print on Demand (Ogo sets this up when you publish from Ogo).
   • Jersey goes to Hillbrick.
   • Socks go to Office.
3. On a product page, open Inventory and confirm the variant shows stock at the intended location. Print on demand items do not need a real count because they are made to order, but they must be assigned to that location so the order routes there.
4. Hillbrick identification. Jerseys are grouped into the Hillbrick collection and carry the Brand_Hillbrick tag. Confirm the jersey is in that collection and has that tag. (This is confirmed on the current jersey product.)

How to check routing worked

After a test order, open the order in Shopify and look at its fulfilment sections. You should see the tee and hoodie under Ogo Print on Demand, the jersey under Hillbrick, the sock under Office, and the ticket already fulfilled by Guest Manager. That is exactly what a correctly set up order looks like.

Watch out for

• If a variant is stocked at the wrong location, its item ships from the wrong place, or not at all. This is a silent failure. The order looks fine but the fulfiller never sees it.
• Socks must not be in the Hillbrick collection. That is what keeps them going to the warehouse.
