Event Setup/Running It Manually
When there is no sync
Who this is for: MS Plus staff who need to get an event's merchandise and ticket orders into Shopify without the automated nightly sync.
The rest of this guide assumes the nightly sync is running. That sync currently covers Gong Ride 2026 only. For every other event, and any time the sync is switched off, this is the process.
Note
What this replaces. Only the order-creation step. Everything else in this guide still applies: you still set up the products, and you still need The Critical Link between Funraisin and Shopify. Without that link no import will work, automated or manual.
The manual flow
Once the orders exist in Shopify, routing is automatic and identical to the automated path. Each item goes to its fulfiller based on where its stock lives, and any ticket in the order is picked up by Guest Manager and emailed to the buyer.
Do not enter orders one at a time
Typing orders into Shopify by hand works for a handful and stops working immediately after that. It is slow, it makes typos in shipping addresses, and it is very easy to enter the same order twice or miss one entirely. The import below handles a whole batch in one pass and links every line item to the correct product and size automatically.
How often to run it
| Order volume | Suggested cadence |
|---|---|
| Under 20 a week | Weekly |
| 20 to 100 a week | Twice a week |
| Over 100 a week | Daily |
Run it more often as the event gets close. Buyers expect their ticket email quickly, and the ticket does not go out until the order exists in Shopify.
What it costs you
About fifteen minutes per run once you are familiar with it, most of which is the file preparation in Step 2. EZ Importer charges roughly one credit per order imported.
